Self-regulation has its importance for children because there can be requirement of controlling the emotions or acting in a controlled manner in moments of temptations (Berns, 2016). Otherwise, there can be impulsive behavior displayed by children if temptations are not tackled properly. My personal experience has been a disappointing one because I had always been restless and never tried to plan or monitor my activities until high school. It is important for parents to control the level of impulsiveness of children by making children participate in physical activities. Anti-social behavior is another important concept which implies that there can be no benefit but only harm assured to be caused for other individuals against whom violence/aggression is used by the anti-social individual (Berns, 2016).
